Mixed Blessings

Hi everyone!

I've not been blogging for a few weeks (or updating my space), as I've been pouring a lot of my energy into revamping my Party Plan Consultant UK website - http://www.partyplanconsultant.co.uk - and setting up an email marketing account for my monthly newsletters.

I've changed the layout of my website and added a cool feature - a Site Pal! My Site Pal is a virtual employee who acts as a tour guide throughout my website. I'm just trying this feature out just now, so I'd value your feedback!

I've had time and energy to concentrate on my website, due to my party plan bookings being virtually non-existent this month! (I've had three cancellations - AAAaargh!!) It's been a tough old month, in spite of Virgin having a fab hostess offer (45% hostess gift allowance). However, having spoken to several other consultants, I know that it's not a problem unique to me. It's a bad time of year, what with holidays and back-to-school. Interest rate rises are curbing spending on luxury goods too.

Still, I'm not going to dwell on the setbacks that get thrown at party plan consultants from time to time! Instead, I have plans to advertise and promote in the local community and beyond. I'm also going to hit those phones and get my diary filled!!.... Watch this space!...

I went down to London for the Pre-Launch of Virgin Vie at Home's New! Homeware range on Wednesday 8th August and it was an amazing day! The products are absolutely exquisite!! I've had to restrain myself from buying up entire catalogue of goods myself!! Instead, I've treated myself to one gorgeous duvet set, a throw and matching cushions! It was soooooo difficult choosing which duvet to buy! I've not actually got the goods yet; they'll be despatched next week when the range officially launches. I can't wait!

The night before my trip to London I was at a canape reception in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery Glasgow, hosted by Scotland's First Minister. The reception was in honour of the heroes of the Glasgow Airport Terror Attack. The First Minister invited my husband, Michael, and the other heroes of the day, on stage. It was an enjoyable evening.

So, as you can see, it's been a busy month, though not very profitable! September looks set to be just as eventful....
